Syrian army command said that Israel fired rockets at a military airport in the west of Damascus. He warned Tel Aviv would be as a result of the attack “striking” is.
State television quoted military said several rockets were fired from an area near Lake Tiberias in northern Israel after midnight. The rocket landed in the airport complex which is an air base for the Republican Guard.

“Command of the Syrian army and armed forces warned Israel would result from striking attack, and stressed the continued battle against terrorism …,” said the military command said in a statement as quoted by The Guardian, Friday (13/01/2017).
The statement did not reveal whether there were casualties. However, these rockets cause a fire.
Earlier, state television said that a number of complex blast hit Mezzeh military airport near Damascus. The report also says there are a number of ambulances were rushed to the area, without giving further details.
Airport located in the southwest of Damascus, into a base that is used to fire rockets into the former rebel-held areas in the suburbs of Damascus.
In the past, Israel has targeted Hezbollah group residing in Syria. Iranian-backed groups have much involvement in the fighting with the Syrian government.
Israeli defense officials have voiced concern over Hezbollah’s role in the Syrian civil war. The group played a significant role, and recently helped the Syrian army to retake Aleppo east.
Damascus airport has also got an air raid in 2013. But Tel Aviv is not affirmed nor denied involvement in the attack on Syria.
